In an afternoon press conference called today to discuss whether he knew Bibb Magistrate Dorothy Pertilla was on paid leave, Houston County District Attorney Kelly Burke's pants unexpectedly burst into flame. Onlookers said Burke's pants burst into flames after he stated that he had a contract signed in blood stating that Pertilla would be on unpaid leave as part of the agreement to drop her case. The fire was extinguished when Burke's aide threw his body on the burning pants, snuffing the flames. This is not the first time Burke's credibility has been called into question. In 2003, Burke was not called a big fat liar by school officials.
Fire officials have not yet released the cause of the fire.
