One man is dead and one is missing following an incident Friday evening at District Attorney Kelly Burke's booth at the 14th annual Georgia National Fair.  Witnesses say that two Assistant Public Defenders were posing for photographs in front of Burke's booth when, "all hell broke loose."  Apparently, one of the men stepped backwards into the secure area of Burke's booth.  At that point, an Assistant District Attorney began shouting "Code Red, Code Red, Everybody Down! Everybody Down!"  Fairgoers, including women and children, were then forced to dive for cover as the Assistant District Attorney opened fire.  One of the men was killed instantly after being shot in the back nineteen times.  The Assistant District Attorney was quoted as saying, "I had no choice, he was coming straight for me."  The survivor fled the carnage on foot.  However, a vehicle registered in his name was discovered early Saturday morning abandoned on the shoulder of I-75 north.  According to Sheriff's Deputies, the vehicle was discovered by a routine traffic patrol.  At the time of the discovery, the vehicle's motor was still running and its driver's door was ajar.  An intensive search of the area using a helicopter and K-9 units yielded no clues as to the missing man's whereabouts.  District Attorney Kelly Burke was quoted as saying, "this sends a powerful message that we will not tolerate security breaches at the Georgia National Fair and remember vote Burke in 2004."

The victims' identities are being withheld pending family notification.  Anyone having any information as to the missing man's whereabouts or the shooting are asked to contact the Houston County Sheriff's Department immediately.

As you probably know, this site is a little thing we like to call satire, it is not the Houston Home Journal nor is it District Attorney Kelly Burke's site.  It is however dedicated to illustrating the surreal nature of life with King Kelly, DA of  Houston County.  If you need this footnote to tell you this, you either rode the short bus to school or you are Kelly Burke.  This site was created on a private computer in a private home, on a private internet connection, to a privately owned domain.
