Kelly's Korner

Not by Kelly Burke
There they go again!
Ever since my story last week entitled, Jury service - more pay, tougher penalties, was printed, yours truly has been besieged by outside agitators, democrat attackers and fanatic defense lawyers. They say things like, "Kelly, how can you say that "a $1,500.00 fine would make the third offense a felony, as a misdemeanor can only carry a fine of up to $1,000.00"? "A first year law student knows that a misdemeanor of a high and aggravated nature can be punished by a fine of up to $5,000.00." Or, "how is it that the chief prosecutor of Houston County does not know what a misdemeanor of a high and aggravated nature is?" Or, "did you even go to an American Law School?" I say to them that their criticism is conduct unbecoming. The day of reckoning is nigh. It is not the critic that counts, it is I, the sweaty, bloody gladiator glistening in the arena, who counts. So there!
Next week: Things I don't know about similar transactions.
